I flew back to London after a stressful final day in Hong Kong. As usual, I took a late night flight which departs Hong Kong just before midnight. I took the Airport Express to the airport after checking in early at Hong Kong Station, so I went through immigration and security through Terminal 2 to save time. This time, I tried out the Deck Lounge, which turned out to a huge disappointment. Be sure to check out my review of the lounge here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsqIYOYHiow&t=62s
When it was time to board, I had a walk quite a distance from the lounge. I had to cut through the entire shopping area to reach my gate. It really was final call, and I must have been the last person to get on the plane! I was literally out of breath when I sat down to have a glass of orange juice as a pre-flight drink.
Dinner was served almost immediately after take off. My day was so bad to the point that I had trouble digesting my dinner earlier in the evening. Therefore, I opted for a potato and leek soup as a lighter meal option. After the meal, I had a Cathay Delight, a signature drink based on kiwi fruit.
The Entertainment System has not been updated on this plane, but no matter! I was too tired to watch any films. I went straight to sleep and slept for over 5 hours.
I woke up with just over 3 hours to go and brushed my teeth. Breakfast was served an hour later. I finally felt hungry and had an English Breakfast and 2 cups of Hong Kong Style Milk Tea before landing in London very early in the morning.
