In this trip report, we take a look at Cathay Pacific’s A350-900 Business Class product on board a flight between Hong Kong and Dublin.
After I disembark from my flight from Sydney, I spend my transit time in Hong Kong refreshing at Cathay’s “The Wing” lounge. Due to my Oneworld Emerald status, I have access to the First Class section of the lounge which features a champagne lounge, dining area (with a-la-carte and buffet dining), large seating area, tended bar, Cabanas, Shower Suites and a business area.
When it comes time to boarding CX 301, I’m one of the first to board due to my Oneworld Emerald status. Once on board, I review the updated Business Class product, which is an improvement on the current product seen already on the B777 and A330. I take a look at the seat, storage areas, lighting, IFE, seat positions, etc.
During the 13 hour flight, two meal services are provided – supper (after take-off) and breakfast (prior to landing). Much of the flight is during nighttime hours so I’m able to try the lie-flat bed, which measures at 190 cm. While I get a good rest on the aircraft, it’s important to note that Cathay does not provide pyjamas or a mattress topper in Business Class.
Upon arrival in Dublin, I’m one of the first off the plane. I pass through Irish immigration/customs then make my way to the Conrad Hotel.
Believe in your success
