The only thing truly off putting about the hotel lane was a bunch of tuk tuk drivers who would instantly pounce on you as you exit the street. But you cannot really blame them- the tuktuks have to go out as per their turn- their license plate numbers are recorded on a blackboard. So the chaps there are only trying to ensure that no tuktuk driver takes any passengers out of turn. We soon got used to it. But what stumped me at the end of this lane was this bottled water shop. I saw a few more shops like this in Amritsar. Does he re-fill used mineral water bottles? It is even legal? And he seems to be refilling bottles of several brands of mineral water.
